Application/Covering Letter का Format भी लगभग अन्य Letters जैसा ही होता है। इसके साथ C.V. या Resume संलग्न (enclose) किया जाता है। Application/Covering letter केवल एक पृष्ठ में तथा C.V./Resume एक पृष्ठ में या अधिकतम दो पृष्ठ में होंगे। C.V. व Resume में कोई ज्यादा अन्तर नहीं है। C.V. का प्रयोग British English तथा Resume का प्रयोग American English में किया जाता है। इन दोनों में आवेदक का व्यक्तिगत विवरण होता है। फोटो माँगने/निर्देश पर ही लगाते हैं।

ध्यान देने योग्य बिन्दु :
- जब तक विशेष रूप से इंगित न हो तो फोटो नहीं लगाते हैं।
- नाम को Bold letters (गहरी स्याही) से लिखते हैं जो अपने आप में अलग दिख सके।
- इसमें Age (उम्र), Gender (लिंग), Nationality (राष्ट्रीयता), Race (जाति), Religion (धर्म), Marital Status (वैवाहिक स्थिति) के बारे में नहीं लिखते हैं यदि विशेष रूप से पूछा न गया हो।
- कई बार इसमें objective तथा profile को शामिल नहीं करते हैं।
- Educational Qualifications तथा Work Experience में Recent (वर्तमान, हाल ही के) को पहले लिखें तथा इससे पहले वाले को बाद में लिखें।
- (6) Skills में अपने अतिरिक्त कौशल जैसे भाषा का ज्ञान, कम्प्यूटर का ज्ञान, ड्राइविंग आदि को शामिल करते हैं।
- Interests में अपनी रुचि जैसे Drama, Acting, Singing, Sports, Creativity, Community Activity आदि को शामिल करते हैं। Reading या Travelling आदि में रुचि नहीं दर्शाते हैं। इसे संक्षिप्त रखें।
- References में नाम, उपाधि या पता शामिल करते हैं जिसे या तो यहीं लिखते हैं या अलग पेज पर लिखकर Attach करते हैं।
Resume
रेज्यूमे में सबसे पहले पेज के बीच में Bold letters (गहरी स्याही में अक्षर) में नाम लिखते हैं। इसमें भी एक पेज अच्छा माना जाता है तथा दो पेज अधिकतम होते हैं।
Format of Resume
ध्यान देने योग्य बिन्दु :
- सर्वप्रथम अपना नाम Bold Letters में लिखें। Name शब्द को लिखने की आवश्यकता नहीं होती है।
- इसके नीचे अपना e-mail Address लिखें।
- Present Address यदि हो तो लिखें तथा इसके बराबर में Permanent Address लिखें। एक ही पता होने पर Address लिखें। साथ में Tel. No. व/या Mobile No. भी लिखें।
- Objective में अपने उद्देश्य (goal) को लिखें।
- विशेष सूचनाओं को Bold letters (गहरी स्याही) में लिखें।
- Honors में सम्मान या पुरस्कार लिखें।
- Skills & Interests को संक्षिप्त में एक साथ लिखें।
