  • Green vegetables-These are full of vitamins and minerals like iron and magnesium.

Crops and seasons:

  • Kharif crops are sown in June-July and harvested in autumn. Example : Millet, groundnut and moong etc.
  • Rabi crops are sown in October-December and harvested in March-April. Example : Wheat, gram, barley.
  • Zaid crops are sown in March-June. Example : Cucumber, watermelon, muskmelon.

Traditions and Stories:

  • All dishes have a cultural background and stories associated with them.
  • In olden times, flour used to be ground by hand mill (chakki), as shown by Pari’s grandmother in the story.

Balanced Diet:

  • Choosing healthy food items and their proper proportion makes our diet nutritious and balanced.
  • A balanced diet contains carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, salt and fiber in the right quantities.
