Why are the wells built? What is the shape of these wells?
Answer:
Wells are constructed for drinking water and irrigation. Through these wells, the water from under the ground is collected.
The shape of the well is circular. Most of the wells were also very artistic. They are made up of puccawalls. There are many ways to take out water from the wells. Sometimes, artistic canopies (chatariya), fiirrous (kheliya) and cisterns (kudiya) were also constructed on a square shaped platform (chabutare) near the wells.
