Question 1.
Reena bought 1 kg. 400 gm of(RBSESolutions.com)tomato, 750 gram of chili, 2 kg 600 gm of potato and keeps in the bag. What is the total weight of her bag ?
Solution.
Therefore total weight of Reena’s bag is 4 kg. 750 gram.
Question 2.
Manoj bought 10 kg bag of sugar from the market. While(RBSESolutions.com)returning home due to a hole in the bag some sugar is scattered out through the hole and 8 kg 750 gm sugar remained. Find out the weight of scattered quantity of sugar.
Solution.
Therefore, 1 kg, 250 gm. sugar scattered on the way.
Question 3.
Sheela is having a packet of 5 kg. 470 gram(RBSESolutions.com)and a box of 3 kg. 690 gram. Weight of the packet is now much more than that of the box?
Solution.
Therefore weight of packet is 1 kg 780 gram more than that of box.
Question 4.
A shopkeeper sells 250 gm packet of spices by(RBSESolutions.com)grinding them from 6 kg of spices. Find out the number of these formed packets. If 4 packets of 250 gm. are prepared from 1 kg of spices.
Solution.
6 kg. spices = 1 kg. + 1 kg. + 1 kg. + 1 kg. + 1 kg. + 1 kg.
= 4 packet + 4 packet + 4 packet + 4 packet + 4 packet + 4 packet = 24 packet
Therefore, 24 packets of 250 gram weight formed from 6 kg. spices.
Question 5.
If 150 gm of wheat and 100 gm. of rice per child is required for the mid day meal then how much wheat and rice is needed for 60 children?
Solution.
Amount of wheat = 150 gram × 60
= 9000 gram = \(\frac { 9000 }{1000 }\) gram = 9 kg.
Amount of rice = 100 gram × 60
= 6000 gram = \(\frac { 6000 }{ 1000 }\) = 6 kg
Therefore, 9 kg wheat and 6 kg rice required for 60 students.
Question 6.
Savita bought 2 kg of cabbage, 4 kg of(RBSESolutions.com)cucumber, 3 kg 700 gm of yam and 2 kg 900 gm of other vegetables from market. Find out the total weight of her bag.
Solution.
Therefore, total weight of bag is 12 kg 600 gm.
Question 7.
Harish brought 2 kg 500 gm of(RBSESolutions.com)turmeric, 5 kg 200 gm of chili, 4 kg 700 gm of coriander and 10 kg of salt from grain market. What is the total weight of all goods ?
Solution.
∵ 1400 gram = 1 kg. + 400 gram
Therefore, he brings 22 kg 400 gm weight at home.

Solution:
(i) 3 \(\frac { 1 }{ 2 }\) kg = 3 kg. + \(\frac { 1 }{ 2 }\) kg.
= 3 × 1000 gram + \(\frac { 1 }{ 2 }\) × 1000 gram
= 3000 gram + 500 gram
= 3 500 gram
(ii) 3 \(\frac { 2 }{ 5 }\) kg. = 3 kg + \(\frac { 2 }{ 5 }\) kg
= 3 × 1000 gram + \(\frac { 2 }{ 5 }\) × 1000 gram
= 3000 gram + 2 × 200 gram
= 3000 gram + 400 gram
= 3400 gram
(iii) 4 \(\frac { 3 }{ 4 }\) kg. = 4 kg. + \(\frac { 3 }{ 4 }\) kg.
= 4 × 1000 gram + \(\frac { 3 }{ 4 }\) × 1000 gram
= 4000 gram + 3 × 250 gram
= 4000 gram + 750 gram
= 4750 gram
(iv) 2 \(\frac { 1 }{ 5 }\) kg = 2 kg. + \(\frac { 1 }{ 5 }\) kg.
= 2 × 1000 gram + \(\frac { 1 }{ 5 }\) × 1000 gram
= 2000 gram + 1 × 200 gram
= 2200 gram
