Vote got by winning candidate = 6,42,312 Difference between votes got by winning candidate and nearest rival = 65,318
Thus, nearest rival got = 6,42,312 – 65,318 = 5,76,994 votes
Question 3.
In the first four days, the Dashehra Mela was visited by 3079, 5768, 9014 and 12306 people (RBSESolutions.com) respectively. Find out how many people in all turned up to visit the Mela in the four days.
Solution.
No. of people on 1st day = 3079
No. of people on 2nd day = 5768
No. of people on 3rd day = 9014
No. of people on 4th day = 12306
Thus, total number of people in four days = 3079 + 5768 + 9014 + 12306 = 30167
Question 4.
A cricketer made 15030 runs in Test Cricket and 18999 runs in One day Cricket. How many runs were made in both types of games ?
Solution.
Rim scored in Test Cricket = 15,030
Run scored in One day Cricket = 18,999
Thus total runs scored = 15,030 + 18,999 = 34,029

Largest number = 97,543 and smallest number = 34,579

Solution.
Papads made in 1 day = 1,385 Number of days in August month = 31
Thus, total papads made in August month = 1,385 × 31 = 42,935

An airplane travels 685 kilometers in an hour. How much distance would it cover in 36 hours?
Solution.
In 1 hour, distance travelled by airplane = 685 km
Thus, in 36 hours distance travelled by airplane. = 685 × 36 km = 24,660 km

A trader paid? 18,57,750 for buying 150 (RBSESolutions.com) television sets. Find out the cost of one television set.
Solution.
Cost of 150 television set = ₹ 18,57,750
Thus, cost of 1 television set = \(\frac { 18,57,750 }{ 150 } \) = ₹ 12,385

A student multiplied 5,068 with 36 instead of 63. Find out the difference in both answers.
Solution.
Multiplying 5,068 by 63 5,068 × 63 = 3,19,284
Multiplying 5,068 by 36 5,068 × 36 = 1,82,448
Difference = 3,19,284 – 1,82,448 = 1,36,836
Thus, difference in both the answer is 1,36,836.
Question 10.
75,000 sheets of paper are available for making Practice books. From every (RBSESolutions.com) sheet, 8 pages of Practice book are made. Every Practice book has 200 pages. How many Practice books can be made from the available sheets of paper?
Solution.
Number of sheets = 75,000
Number of pages formed by 1 sheet = 8
∴ Number of pages formed by 75,000 sheets = 75,000 × 8 = 6,00,000
No. of pages each Practice book has = 200
Thus, number of books made = \(\frac { 6,00,000 }{ 200 } \) = 3,000
Question 11.
There are 15 litre of milk available (RBSESolutions.com) in a hotel. If 25 ml milk is required for making a cup of tea, how many cups of tea can be made from 15 litre of milk?
Solution.
Available milk = 15 litre
Milk required in 1 cup tea = 25 ml
∵ 1 litre = 1000 ml
∴ 15 litre = 15 × 1000 ml = 15,000 ml
Thus, number of tea cup = \(\frac { 15,000 }{ 25 } \) = 600
Thus, using 15 litre milk, 600 cup of tea made.
