Rajasthan Board RBSE Class 8 Maths Chapter 7 Construction of Quadrilaterals Ex 7.2
Question 1.
Construct a quadrilateral LIFT when LI = 4.0 cm., IF = 3.0 cm., TL = 2.5 cm., LF = 4.5 cm. and IT = 4.0 cm.
Solution
Draw a rough sketch of the given measurements:
Steps of Construction
- First of all we draw a line segment LI = 4.0 cm.
- Draw an arc of radius 2.5 cm. from point L and an arc of(RBSESolutions.com)radius 4 cm. from point I which cut at point T. Join TL and TI, so we obtained a triangle LIT.
- Draw an arc of radius 4.5 cm. from point L(RBSESolutions.com)and an arc of radius 3.0 cm. from point I which intersect each other at F. Join LF and IF.
- Join TF.
Thus, we obtained a required quadrilateral LIFT.
Question 2.
Construct a quadrilateral ABCD in which AB = 3.8 cm., BC = 3.0 cm., AD = 2.3 cm., AC = 4.5 cm. and BD = 3.8 cm. Measure the side CD.
Solution
first of all, we draw a rough sketch of the(RBSESolutions.com)quadrilateral of the given measurements:
Steps of Construction
- First of all, we draw a line segment AB = 3.8 cm.
- Draw an arc of radius 2.3 cm. from point A and an arc of radius 3.8 cm. from point B intersect each other at point D. Join AD and BD. So, we(RBSESolutions.com)obtained triangle ABD.
- Draw an arc of radius 4.5 from point A and an arc of radius 3 cm. from point B intersect each other at point C. Join AC and BC. Join CD.
Thus, we obtained a quadrilateral ABCD.
Question 3.
Construct a quadrilateral PQRS. In which PS = 6.0 cm., SR = 5.0 cm., RQ = 7.5 cm., PR = 6.0 cm. and SQ = 10.0 cm.
Solution
First of all, we(RBSESolutions.com)draw a rough sketch of the given measurements :
Steps of Construction
- First of all, we draw a line segment PQ = 7.5 cm.
- Draw an arc of radius 6 cm. from point P and an arc of radius 10 cm. from point Q intersecting each other at S. Join PS and QS. So, we(RBSESolutions.com)obtained triangle PQS.
- Draw, an arc of 6 cm. from point P and an arc of radius 7.5 cm. from point Q intersecting each other at R. Join PR, QR, and SR.
Thus, we obtained the required quadrilateral PQRS:
Question 4.
Construct a quadrilateral ABCD in which AB = BC = CD = 5.0 cm. and Diagonals AC = 6.7 cm. and BD = 5.9 cm.
Solution First of all we(RBSESolutions.com)draw a rough sketch of the given measurements :
Steps of Construction
- First of all we draw a line segment AB = 5 cm.
- Draw an arc(RBSESolutions.com)of radius 6.7 from point A and an arc of radius 5.0 cm. from B intersecting each other at point C. Join AC and BC. So, we obtained the triangle ABC.
- From point B, we draw an arc of radius 5.9 cm. and from point C draw an arc of radius 5 cm. intersecting each other at point
D. Join BD and CD. Join AD. Thus, we obtained required quadrilateral ABCD.
Question 5.
Construct a quadrilateral GOLD in which GO = 3.0 cm., OL = 2.5 cm., GD = 5.0 cm., GL = 4 cm. and OD = 7 cm.
Solution
Draw a rough sketch of the given measurements :
Steps of Construction
- First of all, we draw a line segment GO = 3.0 cm.
- From point G, we draw an arc of radius 4 cm. radius and from point O, we draw an arc of 2.5 cm. intersecting each other at L. Join GL and OL. So, we obtained triangle GOL.
- Again from(RBSESolutions.com)point G, draw an arc of 5 cm. and from a point, O draw an arc of 7 cm. intersecting each other at D. Joint GD and OD. Join DL.
Thus, we obtained the required quadrilateral GOLD
