Five fundamental duties as given in the constitution of India are:

  • To abide the constitution and to respect its ideals and institutions, National flag and National Anthem.
  • To uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India.
  • To cherish and follow the noble ideals which inspired our national struggle for freedom.
  • To defend the country and render national service when called upon to do so.
  • To value and preserve the glory of the rich heritage of our composite culture.

Describe the Right to Constitutional Remedies.
Answer:
This is the heart and soul of our constitution’ as recognized by Dr. B.R. Ambedakar, because all Fundamental rights of the citizens are futile and baseless till they are safeguarded and protected by the courts in case of their violation. Supreme Court and High Courts of the states are empowered to protect the Fundamental rights in case of their infringement by any individual or government body. It empowers the citizens to move a court of law in case of any denial of the fundamental rights. Under special circumstances, as emergency, however, the fundamental rights can be restircted or suspended.
