Subject: Highlighting problems of increasing road accidents.
Respected Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards an unusual rise of road accidents occurring in Jaipur. In the past few months, I have noticed that negligence on the road has proven to be fatal for many people in our city.
These road accidents occur only because people were careless or refused to follow the traffic rules laid out. Overloaded trucks or cars swishing past the red light has resulted in accidents that we frequently read about in newspapers these days. This not only affects the families that have lost their loved ones but also affects the common public as it has to wait for hours before the situation on the road is taken care of. It is truly disappointing to realize that people do not want to follow rules.
I write to you today in the hope that you will take appropriate action to educated your audience about the rules and regulations that should be followed while driving or crossing the roads. I also hope that the information you publish in the newspaper will help hundreds and this will effectively or even stop road accidents from happening in our beloved city.
Yours faithfully,

(i) Reference- These lines have been taken from the poem “Risks’. The poem is composed by Janet Rand who inspires young people with his inspiring words.
Context- The poet says that simple activities like laughing, weeping, helping others involve risks. Even exposure of one’s ideas is not without risk.
Explanation- The poet says that to love someone involves the risk of not being loved in return. The risk of death is very much inherent in taking birth, that is to live. One who is born, is sure to die. So is the involvement of the risk of hopelessness in every activity performed with a ray of hope in mind. Keeping such risks in mind, many a time one does not try things. He fears failure.
(ii) Reference- These lines have been taken from the poem “An Elegy on the Death of a Mad Dog’ composed by Oliver Goldsmith.

They had said earlier that the good man would die soon because the dog had bitten him. But this didn’t happen. The man became well again. He had no effect of the dog’s bite on his body.
