Why did the flood come?
Answer:
The flood in Ramganj was caused by heavy rainfall. It caused the stream to overflow. The stone crossing system was not sufficient and flow of water could not be controlled. Water was flowing from nearby fields but there was no proper drainage system. All these made the situation worse.

What measures can be taken to prevent floods?
Answer:
To prevent flood, a strong dam or bridge should be built on the stream. It is necessary to improve the drainage system. Houses can be built on higher places in village. Emergency relief camps should be ready to help. Trees should be planted to eradicate soil erosion and to control flow of water.

Saving water-We can suggest many ways to save water during group discussion. Such as collecting rain water in ponds, lake etc., constructing water harvesting structure to store rain water, planting trees to check soil erosion, using drip irrigation system to water fields etc. Villagers can be advised to avoid wastage of water and spread awareness among themselves.
