Question 1.
With the help of Beads chain, you also find out.

Solution :
First we will go till 52 on beads chain. Now 2 steps backward from 52, we will reach 50. Now we will go 10 steps backward from 50, We will reach 40. Then 3 steps backward from 40, we will reach 37. Therefore, 52 – 15 = 37

Question 1.
Solve these on Number Line-
(i) 67 + 13
(ii) 44 – 26
(iii) 35 + 42
(iv) 72 – 3
Solution :
(i) 67 + 13
First we will go to 67 on the number line. Now to add 3 to 67 we will go 3 steps forward from 67 and reach 70. Now we will go 10 more steps forward from 70 and reach 80.
Hence, 67+13=80

(ii) 44 – 26
First we will reach 44 on number line. Now we will go back 6 steps and reach 38. Then we will go back the remaining 20 steps and reach 18.
Therefore, 44 – 26 = 18

(iii) 35 + 42
First we will go to 35 on the number line. Now we will go 40 steps forward to add 35 to 40 and reach 75. Now we will go forward for the remaining 2 steps and reach 77.
Hence, 35 + 42 = 77
(iv) 72-3
First we will go to 72 on the number line and then move back 3 steps to subtract 3. In this way we will reach 69.
Hence, 72 – 3 = 69

Question 1.
You also Add and Subtract on Number Line-

Solution :
(i) 465 + 266
First we will go to 465 on number line. Now to add 100, we will go 100 steps ahead and reach 565. Again to add 100, we will go 100 steps forward and reach 665. Now to add 66 we will go 66 steps forward and reach 731.
Thus, 465 + 266 = 731
(ii) 428-137
First we will go to 428 on number line. Now to subtract 100, we will go back 100 steps and reach 328. Now to subtract 37 we will go back 37 steps and reach 291.
Hence, 428 – 137 = 291
(iii) 247 + 441
247 + 441 = 688
(iv) 260 – 132
260 – 132 = 128
Question 2.
First make an estimate and then find the correct answer-

Solution :
| My estimate | Correct answer | |
