Question 1.
A number has 2 in the hundreds place, 5 in the tens place and 8 in the unit place. Write the number.
Solution :

Which is the biggest 2-digit number?
Solution :
The biggest two digit number is 99.

Question 3.
Which number is bigger 999 or 989?
Solution :
989 + 10 = 999
Therefore, 999 is bigger.

Solution :
Number 999 is the biggest 3-digit number.

Solution :

99 is 2-digit number. 100 is 3-digit number

The hundreds digit in 100 is 1 and hundreds digit in 999 is 9. Both are 3-digit numbers. So, the number 100 is smaller.

A pencil has more length.

Which object has shorter lengtha table or bench?
Solution :
A table has shorter length.

Question 11.
Which of these objects is the longest-a pencil, pen or book?
Solution :
Book is the longest among a pencil, pen or book.

Question 12.
If the length of one pencil is equal to 15 sharpeners, then the length of two pencils will be equal to how many sharpeners?
Solution :
Length of 1 pencil
= Length of 15 sharpeners
∴ Length of 2 pencils = 15 + 15
= Length of 30 sharpeners

Question 13.
If the length of one book is equal to 2 pencils, then the length of three books will be equal to how many pencils?
Solution :
Length of 1 book = length of 2 pencils
∴ length of 3 books = 3 × 2
= 3 times 2
= 2 + 2 + 2 = 6
= length of 6 pencils

Question 14.
A bus has to cover a distance of 15 kilometers. If it has already covered a distance of 8 kilometers, then how much more distance is left to cover?
Solution :
More distance is left to cover
= Total distance – distance already covered
= 15 km – 8 km
= 7 km

Question 15.
The length of a pencil is 15 cm. If it is cut by 3 centimeters, then what will be its remaining length?
Solution :
Remaining length
= Length of the pencil – length of part which is cut-off
= 15 cm – 3 cm
= 12 cm

Question 16.
The length of a paper is 25 cm. If 5 centimeters is cut off from it, then what will be its remaining length?
Solution :
Remaining length
= Length of paper – length cut-off
= 25 cm-5 cm
= 20 cm

Question 17.
A boy plays from 5 PM to 7
PM. Tell for how long does he play?
Solution :

Question 21.
If the length of a piece of wood is 300 centimeters, then what will be its length in meters.
Solution :
100 centimeter = 1 meter
∴ 300 centimeter = \(\frac{300}{100}\) = 3 meter

The length of a table is 100 centimeters, what will be its length in meters?
Solution :
Length of the table =100 centimeter
We know that 1 meter =100 centimeter
Threfore, the length of table in meters is 1 meter.

Question 23.
If the length of a room is 5 meters, then what will be its length in centimeters?
Solution :
1 meter = 100 centimeter
∴ 5 meter = 5 × 100 centimeter
= 100 + 100 + 100 + 100
= 500 centimeters

Question 24.
Which length is greater-30 centimeters or 3 meters?
Solution :
3 meter = 3 × 100 centimeter
= 300 centimeter
So, length of 3 meter is greater than 30 centimeters length.

Question 25.
Which length is greater-120 centimeters or 1 meter?
Solution :
∵ 1 meter =100 centimeter
So, 120 centimeter length is greater than 1 meter length.
