Solution :
Remaining distance
= Total Distance – Distance walked
= 5 kilometers – 2 kilometers
= 3 kilometers
Question 5.
A boy has to cover a distance of 20 km. If he has covered 12 km on foot and 4 km on bicycle, then what is the remaining distance left to be covered?
Solution :
Distance covered on foot = 12 kilometers
Distance covered by bicycle = 4 kilometers
Total distance covered
= 12 + 4 = 16 kilometers
Remaining distance to destination
= Total distance – Distance covered
= 20 kilometers – 16 kilometers
= 4 kilometers

The length of a rope is 120 cm. If 20 cm is cut off from it, then what will be its remaining length?
Solution :
Remaining length
= Total length – Cut length
= 120 centimeters – 20 centimeters
= 100 centimeters

Solution :
The length of the bench is greater than the length of the table.

Which object is longer-Eraser or Scale?
Solution :
The length of the scale is greater than the length of the eraser.

Solution :
456 + 1 = 457, therefore 457 is the larger number.
Question 10.
Which number is smaller among 123 and 124 ?
Solution :
124 – 1 = 123, therefore 123 is the smaller number.

Which number among 999 and 100 is the largest three-digit number?
Solution :
Both 999 and 100 are three-digit numbers. In 999, the digits in hundreds, tens and ones places are large, therefore it is the larger number.
Question 12.
A box weighs 10 kg . If items of 3 kg weight is taken out from it, what will be its remaining weight?
Solution :
Weight of box = 10 kilograms
Items removed = 3 kilograms
Remaining weight = 7 kilograms
Question 13.
If the length of a room is equal to 30 foot-steps, then what will be the length of two rooms?
Solution :
Length of one room = 30 steps
Length of two rooms = 2 × 30 steps
= 60 steps
Question 14.
A bus departs from Udaipur at 8.00 am reaches Dungarpur at 10 am. How much time does the bus take to reach Dungarpur?
Solution :
10 o’clock to 8 o’clock = 2 hours
Therefore, it takes 2 hours for the bus to reach Dungarpur.
Question 15.
The length of a garden is 3 meters. What will be its length in centimeters?
Solution :
1 meter = 100 centimeters
Therefore, 3 meters = 3 × 100
= 300 centimeters
Therefore, the lenght of the garden is 300 centimeters.

The length of a road is 10 meters. What will be its length in centimeters?
Solution :
1 meter = 100 centimeters
10 meters = 10 × 100
= 1000 centimeters
Therefore, the length of the road is 1000 centimeters.

The length of a wall is 400 cm . What will be its length in meters?
Solution : 100 centimeters = 1 meter
400 centimeters = \(\frac{400}{100}\) meters
= 4 meters
