Question 1.
Whiche shapes of tiles would be easiest to lay on the floor of a rectangular roomsquare, circle, or triangle? Why? Explain.
Solution :
It would be easiest to lay square shaped tiles to cover the floor of a rectangular room. Because a square is a regular polygon with all sides equal and all angles are right angles. These easily fit in rectangular room without any gap.
Question 2.
Think and Answer-If we only tile the floor with round tiles, will there be empty spaces in between? Why? Explain.
Solution :
It is difficult to completely cover the floor with round tiles because a circle is a symmetrical but angleless shape, which leaves a gap between two circles.
