Question 17.
Solve :
(i) 130 balls were distributed equally among 5 children. How many balls did each child get?
Solution :

Total balls = 130,
Number of Children = 5
Each child got balls
= 130 ÷ 5 = 26
Therefore, each child got 26 balls.
(ii) There are 48 books in a school library. If 8 books are kept in each rack, how many racks are needed?
Solution :
Total books = 48, books in each rack = 8
Racks needed = 48 ÷ 8 = 6

Therefore, 6 racks are needed.
(iii) 210 mangoes were placed equally in 7 baskets. How many mangoes will be placed in each basket?
Solution :
Total mangoes = 210,
Total baskets = 7
Mangoes in each basket =210 ÷ 7 = 30

Therefore, 30 mangoes will be placed in each basket.
(iv) 636 toys were distributed equally among 6 children. How many toys will each child get?
Solution : Total toys = 636,
Number of children = 6
Each child will get toys = 636 ÷ 6 = 106

(v) 42 bananas were distributed equally in 7 plates. How many bananas will be placed on each plate?
Solution : Total bananas = 42,
Number of plates = 7
Bananas will be placed on each plate = 42 ÷ 7 = 6
Therefore, 6 bananas will be placed on each plate.
