Instructions :

  1. Students must first write their Roll No. on the Question Paper compulsorily.
  2. All the questions are compulsory.
  3. Marks of each question is written in front of it.
  4. The answer to each question must be written in the space provided for it.

Understanding of the Shape and Space (Marks-21)

Question 1.
The angle of 180° is called :
(a) obtuse angle
(b) straight angle
(c) right angle
(d) acute angle
Answer:
(b) straight angle

Question 2.
Find the area of the shaded region in the given figures:

Answer:
Area of the first shaded part
= \(\frac{1}{2}\)(length × width)
= \(\frac{1}{2}\) × 3 × 2 = 3 square cm
Area of the second shaded part
= 25 m × 25 m

Identify the given objects and write the name of their threedimensional shape 3 × 2 = 6

Question 4.
Solve the following questions 4 × 2 = 8
(i) A shopkeeper had a 9 meter long chunari from which he cut 4 meters and gave it to a customer, then how much chunari was left with him?
Answer:
9 meter – 4 meter = 5 meter
So, 5 meter chunari was left with the shopkeeper.

(ii) A person travels 10 km by car and then 5 km on foot. What is the total distance covered?
Answer:
Total distance =10 km + 5 km =15 km

(iii) A shopkeeper has 15 meters of cloth. If he sells 3 meter of cloth, how much cloth remains?
Answer:
Remaining cloth
= 15 meter – 3 meter
= 12 meter

(iv) A rectangular field is 80 meter long and 50 meter wide. What is its perimeter?
Answer:
Perimeter = 2 × (length + width)
= 2 × (80 + 50)
= 2 × 130 = 260 meter

The expanded form of the number 56780 is : 1
(a) 5000 + 600 + 70 + 8
(b) 56000 + 70 + 8

Question 10.
The cost of one sewing machine is 3450 and fodder cutting machine is 6700 Which machine is costly and by how much amount? 3
Answer:
Cost of one sewing machine = ₹ 3450
Cost of fodder cutting machine = ₹ 6700
(Six Thousand Seven hundred rupees)
Clearly fodder cutting machine is costly and the difference between the amounts
= ₹ 6700 – ₹ 3450
= ₹ 3250

(iii) 76 of 7
Answer:
(i) Ekadhiken purven 89 of 9
= 89 = 99

(ii) Ekadhiken purven 125 of 2
= 125 = 225

(iii) Ekadhiken purven 76 of 7
= 076 = 176

Question 12.
(i) A student reads 18 pages everyday. If he studies continuously for 45 days then find out how many pages will he read? 3 × 2 = 6
Answer:
Student reads pages per day = 18
Total pages read in 45 days = 45 × 18
= 45 × (8 + 10)
= (45 × 8) + (45 × 10)
= 360 + 450 = 810 pages

(ii) 875 toffees are to be packed in small packets. If one packet contains 25 toffees, how many packets will be made?
Answer:
Total Toffees = 875
Toffees per packet = 25
Therefore, total packets will be
= 875 ÷ 25 = 35 packets

Length of a scale = 30 cm

= 150 cm
= 150 × 10 mm

If a person picks 50 kg of tomatoes in 1 hour, then : 4 × 2 = 8
(i) How many people will be required to pick 500 kg of tomatoes in 1 hour?
Answer:
People required to pick 50 kg of tomatoes in 1 hour = 1
People required to pick 500 kg of tomatoes in 1 hour = 10

(ii) How many tomatoes will he be able to pick in 2 hours 30 minutes?
Answer:
Tomatoes picked in 1 hour = 50 kg
Tomatoes picked in 2 hours = 100 kg
Tomatoes picked in 2 hours 30 minutes = 100 + 25 = 125 kg

(iii) How many tomatoes will be a person able to pick in 8 hours?
Answer:
Tomatoes picked in 1 hour = 50 kg Tomatoes picked in 8 hours = 8 × 50 = 400 kg.

(iv) If two people together can pick only 80 kg of tomatoes in 1 hour, then how much time will it take to pick 520 kg of tomatoes?
Answer:
Time taken by two persons to pick 80 kg tomatoes = 1 hour or 60 minutes
Time taken by 2 persons to pick 1 kg tomato
= \(\frac{60}{80}\) × 520
= 390 minutes
= 6 hours 30
