(A) Opposites/Antonyms (विलोम शब्द)

परीक्षा में विलोम शब्द (Opposites/Antonyms) सम्बन्धी प्रश्न भी पूछा जाता है। विलोम शब्द बनाने के कुछ नियम इस प्रकार हैं:

नियम 1. कुछ शब्दों के पहले dis- जोड़कर । जैसे

नियम 2. शब्दों के प्रारम्भ में un- जोड़कर विलोम बनाना । जैसे

नियम 3. कुछ शब्दों के पहले mis- लगाकर विलोम बनाना। जैसे

नियम 4. शब्दों के प्रारम्भ में im- लगाकर विलोम बनाना जैसे –

नियम 5. शब्दों के प्रारम्भ में in- लगाकर विलोम बनाना । जैसे –

नियम 6. शब्दों के प्रारम्भ में लगे उपसर्ग को बदलकर विलोम बनाना । जैसे

नियम 7. शब्दों के अन्त में लगे प्रत्यय को बदलकर विलोम बनाना । जैसे

नियम 8. यदि शब्द के प्रारम्भ में ‘T’ है तो उससे पूर्व ‘il’ उपसर्ग जोड़कर विलोम बनाना। जैसे

नियम 9. शब्द से पूर्व ‘non’ उपसर्ग जोड़कर विलोम बनाना। जैसे

नियम 10. जिन शब्द के प्रारम्भ में ‘r’ है तो ‘ir’ उपसर्ग लगाकर विलोम बनाना। जैसे

नियम 11. अधिकतर शब्दों को बदलकर विलोम शब्द बनाये जाते हैं। जैसे
