(i) 99
(ii) 98
(iii) 89
(iv) 999
Solution.
(i) 99
On changing the number 99 into Vinkulum, Since, inverse of 99 is 1\(\overline { 1 } \)9 . Therefore, here unit digit is (9 (10 – 1), thus it would be reduced by 1, complementary digit of tens digit \(\overline { 1 } \) is 9, thus it remains same. And hundreds digit is 1, thus hundreds digit would be increased by 1.
(ii) 98
On changing the number 98 into Vinkulum, Since, (RBSESolutions.com) inverse of 98 is 1\(\overline { 1 } \)8 . Therefore, here unit digit is 8 (10 – 2), thus it would be reduced by 2, complementary digit of tens digit \(\overline { 1 } \) is 9, it remains same, and hundreds digit is 1. Thus, hundreds digit would be increased by 1.
(iii) 89
On changing the number 89, into Vinkulum, Since, (RBSESolutions.com) inverse of 89 is 1\(\overline { 11 } \). Therefore, here unit digit is \(\overline { 1 } \), it would be reduced by 1. Ten digit is \(\overline { 1 } \), it would be reduced by 1, and hundreds digit is 1, thus hundreds digit would be increased by 1.
(iv) 999
On changing the number 999, into Vinklum, Since, inverse (RBSESolutions.com) of 999 is 100\(\overline { 1 } \) . Therefore, here unit digit is \(\overline { 1 } \), it would be reduced by 1. Tens and hundreds digit is 0, so we take complementary digit of ekadhik value of 0 i.e,, 1, which is 9.
