## Rajasthan Board RBSE Class 8 Maths Chapter 12 Linear Graph Ex 12.2

Question 1.

Length of a side of an equilateral triangle and square is x cm.

Find their perimeter, draw the(RBSESolutions.com)graph between length and perimeter.

[Hint = Perimeter of ∆ = (x + x + x) cm.]

Solution

(1) Perimeter of equilateral triangle = 3 x Length of one side

= 3x

Table for x and corresponding P

Length(x) | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |

Perimeter(P) | 3 | 6 | 9 | 12 | 15 | 18 |

This shows a straight line.

(2) Perimeter (P) of square

= 4 x Length of one side

= 4x

Table for x and corresponding P

Length(x) | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |

Perimeter(P) | 4 | 8 | 12 | 16 | 20 | 24 |

This shows a straight line.

Question 2.

Length of a rectangle is double of its breadth. Draw the graph between area and breadth of rectangle. (Hint : Area of rectangle A = 2x × x = 2x²) Solution

Breadth of rectangle (B) = x

Length of(RBSESolutions.com)rectangle (L) = 2x

Area of rectangle (A) = Length x Breadth

= 2x × x = 2x²

Table for x and corresponding A

Breadth(x) | 0 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |

Area(A) | 0 | 2 | 8 | 18 | 32 | 50 |

The graph is given below

Question 3.

According to the following table, draw the graph between time and simple interest.

Time | 1 yr | 2 yr | 3 yr | 4 yr |

Simple Interest | Rs 60 | Rs 120 | Rs 180 | Rs 240 |

Solution

The graph is given below

Question 4.

Draw a graph representing the relation between time and distance.

Time | 2 | 4 | 6 | 8 |

Distance | 10 | 20 | 30 | 40 |

Solution

The graph is given below

Question 5.

According to the following table, draw the graph and explain this graph pass through the origin.

Fixed Deposit (in Rs) | 1000 | 2000 | 3000 | 4000 | 5000 |

Simple Interest (in Rs) | 80 | 160 | 240 | 320 | 400 |

Solution

The graph is given below
